Cauliflower Pizza Crust Recipe and benefits of cauliflower!

Cauliflower is soooooo versatile and amazing!

One-cup serving:
-has 29 calories
-provides 73 percent of your recommended daily vitamin C

Cauliflower is rich in antioxidants so it helps prevent inflammation and reduce your risk for heart disease and brain disorders like Alzheimer’s. It is a sulphur vegetable and ideally you are eating 2-3 cups of sulphur veggies a day!

Cauliflower is a wonderful substitute for rice and potatoes and it’s easy to make so that kids love it too….. cauliflower mash, cauliflower rice and now cauliflower pizza crust!!

One of my favorite ways to use cauliflower is to make my Cauliflower Pizza Crust. OMG you must try this. Next time I make it i’ll do a video but here is the recipe.

Recipe: Servings: 2

Ingredients:
1 large head cauliflower, chopped into florets
2 large eggs, beaten
1-1.5 tablespoons Italian seasoning
½-1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons coconut flour
1 tablespoon almond flour
3 or more tablespoons pizza sauce
protein source of choice: bison, salami, sausage, salmon etc
1-2 cups chopped veggies of choice: mushrooms, broccoli, greens, olives, artichokes, asparagus or anything you desire!

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

-Add the cauliflower to your food processor and pulse, until cauliflower is broken down as small as possible. (It is helpful to add the cauliflower in batches).
-Steam the cauliflower for 5 minutes.
-Add to a fine-mesh strainer and let sit for 10 minutes so that it can cool down and excess water can drain.
-Place cauliflower in a nutmilk bag or clean thin dishtowel, wrap it up, and then squeeze all the excess moisture out. Continue squeezing until you can no longer get any liquid from the cauliflower.
-Add the cauliflower to a large mixing bowl and add eggs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, coconut flour, and almond flour and mix.
-Cover a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
-Divide the dough into two balls and then press the dough flat into a circle shape or any shape you desire. Try to make the dough as even as possible (about ⅓-inch thick).
-Bake the crust for about 35 – 40 minutes, until it is firm and golden brown.
-Top the pizza crusts with anything you desire but you can stick with a traditional pizza such as pizza sauce, a protein and veggies, then bake an additional 10 minutes.

My favorite toppings are:
-organic super chunky tomato sauce
-olives
-artichokes
-bison
-mushrooms
-broccoli
-onions
-parsley and spinach

Then when it comes out of the oven I throw loads of arugula and fresh sprouts on top to add those raw foods to my cooked meal for those living enzymes!!! I also love adding Sun Potion Chlorella powder!! To up-level it you can add sea veggies, nutritional yeast, chlorella powder and even spirulina powder.

Definitely try this one! It will become a regular in your home! And get creative. I’ve added mashed avocado as the base on the crust, roasted veggies, strips of nori with baked salmon and more. Use it in place of toast or bread!
